McClain came tearing into Monday's game with 15 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.2 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 49-36 victory over the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while the Mustangs are ranked 539th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the defeat, Lynchburg-Clay saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Madison Mcmullen almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for Mcmullen. Allie Waits was another key player, putting up nine points.

McClain pushed their record up to 17-1 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.2 points per game. As for Lynchburg-Clay, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-12.

McClain wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 60-11 victory against Chillicothe on the 29th. As for Lynchburg-Clay, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 36-29 loss against Georgetown on the 29th.
