Recap: Lake Country Lutheran Lightning vs. Brookfield Academy Blue Knights

The Lake Country Lutheran Lightning had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.3 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Saturday. They walked away with an 80-67 victory over Brookfield Academy. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Lake Country Lutheran got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Sam Hans out in front who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds. Hans is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Cleary, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.

Lake Country Lutheran's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 86.8 points per game. As for Brookfield Academy, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-2.

Lake Country Lutheran will be playing in front of their home fans against Kingdom Prep Lutheran at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Kingdom Prep Lutheran will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Wisconsin Rankings (they are ranked 326th, while Lake Country Lutheran is ranked 104th). Brookfield Academy will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Luther Prep at 7:15 p.m. on January 30th.
