Soccer Recap: Cushing Academy Comes Up Short

It was a good run, but Cushing Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-match winning streak on Saturday. They lost 3-0 to the Mount St. Charles Academy Mounties. While losing is never fun, Cushing Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' soccer rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 78th in Massachusetts, while Mount St. Charles Academy are ranked fourth in Rhode Island).

Cushing Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-10-2. As for Mount St. Charles Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-0-3 record this season.

Cushing Academy will host Northfield Mount Hermon at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Northfield Mount Hermon's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Mount St. Charles Academy, they will be playing at home against South Kent School at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
