Basketball Recap: St. Marys' Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

St. Marys had won two straight games and Addie Davis did her part to make it three on Monday. The St. Marys Blue Devils breezed past the Poca Dots to the tune of 77-24 for which the team can thank Davis, who shot 59% from the field en route to 22 points along with seven assists and six steals. She has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Bennett, who posted eight points and nine boards. Thanks to that strong game, she now owns an excellent 45.7% field goal percentage.

Despite the loss, Poca saw an underclassman step up: freshman Katelyn Dillo earned seven points. Emma Haynes also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

St. Marys' victory bumped their record up to 18-4. As for Poca, they dropped their record down to 4-17 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Coming up, St. Marys will be playing in front of their home fans against Williamstown at 7:00 p.m. on March 5th. St. Marys is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.8 points per game this season. As for Poca, they have already played their next matchup, a 63-24 loss against Buffalo on the 28th.
