Football Game Preview: Carlisle Thundering Herd vs. Altoona Mountain Lions + How To Watch

The Carlisle Thundering Herd are taking a road trip to challenge the Altoona Mountain Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Carlisle comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Carlisle is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against State College on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Thundering Herd were dealt a 58-8 loss at the hands of the Little Lions. While losing is never fun, the Thundering Herd can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 386th, while the Little Lions are ranked 40th).

Meanwhile, Altoona came up short against Cedar Cliff on Friday, falling 28-6.

Carlisle's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Altoona, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

Carlisle beat Altoona 19-9 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Thundering Herd since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
