The Carl Hayden Community Falcons will take on the North Canyon Rattlers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Carl Hayden Community is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed past Alhambra to the tune of 56-8 on Friday. The win was some much needed relief for the Falcons as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Carl Hayden Community's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Damiani Mitchell, who rushed for 143 yards and one score while picking up 7.2 yards per carry, and also threw for 107 yards and a pair of TDs. That's the most rushing yards Mitchell has posted since back in October of 2024. Another pass catcher making a difference was Mekhi Wright, who gained 177 total yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, North Canyon blew past Washington, posting a 47-7 victory. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-7.
Carl Hayden Community better focus on containing Karlos Romandia and AJ Garcia as the pair were huge in North Canyon's win. Romandia threw for 238 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, while Garcia gained 144 total yards and three touchdowns. Garcia also rushed for 111 rushing yards, which is notable because North Canyon is 2-1 when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 1-3 otherwise. 81 of Romandia's passing yards were hauled in by Dom Dampier, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
One reason for the win was North Canyon's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Washington's QB won't forget Markel Arnold anytime soon given he sacked him twice. Arnold has been hot for a while, having also posted six or more total tackles the last nine times he's played. Another thorn in Washington's side was Kevin Silva Lopez, who picked up a sack and made seven total tackles (2.0 for loss).
North Canyon's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Carl Hayden Community, their victory bumped their record up to 2-5.
