Soccer Recap: Windward Comes Up Short

Windward managed to keep up with Venice until halftime on Saturday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Windward Wildcats lost 5-0 to the Venice Gondoliers. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 467th, while the Gondoliers are ranked 195th).

Windward now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Venice, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Windward wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next game, a 4-1 win against Village Christian on the 16th. As for Venice, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against El Camino Real on the 17th.
