Football Recap: Three Rivers Bulldogs vs. Ganado Indians
Three Rivers and Ganado squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Three Rivers had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a 55-0 loss at the hands of the Indians. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 836th, while the Indians are ranked 140th).
Paxton Soliz threw for 71 yards on nine of 22 attempts. Ethan Conn was his top target, picking up 51 receiving yards.
Landyn Arriaga had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 139 yards and two scores on only 11 carries, while also throwing for 190 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes for Ganado. Those 139 rushing yards gave Arriaga a new career-high. John Utley helped out on the ground, rushing for 100 yards.
Three Rivers is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7. As for Ganado, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 10-1.
