Soccer Game Preview: Loris vs. Conway

Loris hasn't had much luck against Conway recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Lions will head out on the road to challenge the Tigers at 7:15 p.m. Loris will be strutting in after a win while Conway will be coming in after a defeat.

Conway better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Loris' game on Thursday is any indication, that's when Loris really gets things going. The Lions were the clear victors by a 4-1 margin over Green Sea Floyds. That's two games straight that Loris have won by exactly three goals.

They hit Green Sea Floyds with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Perla Martinez-Durate (2), Kyleigh Hemingway, and Ashanti Bell.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Conway took on Carolina Forest on Friday. The Tigers lost 7-1 to the Panthers. While losing is never fun, Conway can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 158th, while Carolina Forest are ranked 46th).

The victory made it two in a row for Loris and bumps their season record up to 6-7-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored seven goals over those two contests. As for Conway, their loss dropped their record down to 4-12.

Loris came up short against Conway in their previous meeting back in March, falling 2-0. Can the Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
