Basketball Recap: Santa Clara Comes Up Short

Santa Clara was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 45-40 heartbreaker at the hands of the Silver Creek Raiders. The Bruins were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2018.

Santa Clara's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Silver Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.

Santa Clara will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Jefferson at 1:30 p.m. on December 31st. As for Silver Creek, they and Los Altos will face off at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
