Basketball Recap: Central Cambria Comes Up Short

Central Cambria lost against Greater Johnstown back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Central Cambria Red Devils were outmatched by the Greater Johnstown Trojans and fell 82-54. The Red Devils were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-20.

Grady Snyder and Brayden Swope certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Snyder dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 boards, while Swope posted 17 points. Swope continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was John Brouse, who put up eight points.

Central Cambria's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Greater Johnstown, the win keeps them at an undefeated 20-0.

The future could be bright for both Central Cambria and Greater Johnstown: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Central Cambria will try to hand Westmont Hilltop their third-straight defeat when the two meet at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Greater Johnstown will look to extend Bishop Carroll's three-game losing streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
