Football Recap: Blackville-Hilda Comes Up Short

After flying high against Calhoun County last Friday, Blackville-Hilda came back down to earth. The Fighting Hawks took a blow against the Hunter-Kinard-Tyler Trojans on Friday, falling 46-0. The shutout was out of character for the Fighting Hawks seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in September.

Even if they lost, Blackville-Hilda's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Peyton Davis, Jayden Dash, and Messiah Mcfadden, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Blackville-Hilda now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Hunter-Kinard-Tyler, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Blackville-Hilda is set to face off against their familiar foe Williston-Elko at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Hunter-Kinard-Tyler will square off against rival Ridge Spring-Monetta at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
