Basketball Recap: Liberty Baptist Comes Up Short

Liberty Baptist suffered their biggest loss since November 19, 2024 on Tuesday. They were outmatched by the KIPP San Jose Collegiate Wolfpack and fell 55-28. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Wolfpack: they've now lost nine in a row.

KIPP San Jose Collegiate got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Christian Ademe-Johnson out in front who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 16 boards. Ademe-Johnson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Fernando Quiroz-Chavez, who went 6 of 10 en route to 14 points and three steals.

Liberty Baptist's loss dropped their record down to 13-5. As for KIPP San Jose Collegiate, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-8.

Liberty Baptist will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on North Valley Baptist at 4:30 p.m. on January 27th. KIPP San Jose Collegiate has already played their next match, a 62-39 victory against Summit Tahoma on the 16th.
