Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Mackenna Minden and Avaya O'brien Lead Osawatomie to Victory

Osawatomie posted their closest win since October 4th on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Baxter Springs Lions 2-1.

Osawatomie had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 24-26, 25-16, 25-21.

Leading Osawatomie to victory were Avaya O'Brien and Mackenna Minden. O'Brien had ten digs and three assists, while Minden had 17 digs and two aces. Those 17 digs gave Minden a new career-high.

Osawatomie has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-21 record this season. As for Baxter Springs, their defeat ended a four-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 24-15.

Coincidentally, Osawatomie and Baxter Springs will both be playing Jayhawk Linn the next time they take the court. The Trojans will host the Jayhawks at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Lions will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
