Volleyball Recap: Joliet West Extends Winning Streak to Four

Joliet West waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Maine East Blue Demons.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Joliet West got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 22-25, 25-18.

Drew Johnson paced Joliet West's offense, picking up 13 kills. Johnson got some help from Nolan Fellows and his 28 assists. Davide Giambagli controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Joliet West's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-8. As for Maine East, their loss dropped their record down to 9-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Joliet West will face off against Plainfield Central at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for Maine East, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Maine West at 6:00 p.m.
