Basketball Recap: Naomi Theodore's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Belen over St. Pius X

Belen lost against St. Pius X back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Belen Eagles came up short against the St. Pius X Sartans, falling 46-22. The Eagles just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

Belen lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Naomi Theodore, who posted five points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Trujillo, who put up five points and three steals.

Belen's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for St. Pius X, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Belen will face off against Highland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Highland has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for St. Pius X, they will challenge Grants at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Grants has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with three straight losses, while St. Pius X will come in with three straight victories.
