Basketball Recap: Rank Disadvantage No Problem for Springfield

Springfield's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They secured a 60-54 W over the Lanphier Lions. The win was all the more spectacular given the Senators' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 239th, while the Lions are ranked 101st).

Springfield's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Lanphier, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-2.

Springfield wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 50-44 defeat against Peoria on the 14th. Lanphier has also already played their next game, a 61-58 win against Richwoods on the 14th.
