Elizabethton has a real challenge coming up -- the hardest it has met all year. This Friday it takes on Alcoa in the first playoff game of the year. Elizabethton is currently on a 11-game winning streak and looking to extend its dominance.

Elizabethton took its game last week with a confident 45 - 13 score. Sophomore running back Corey Russell was especially active in the win, finding the endzone an impressive three times. Russell has been a consistent playmaker for Elizabethton as this was the 12th good game in a row from him.

Meanwhile, Alcoa blew past Scott last week 55 - 28. Alcoa is ranked 12th in the state (74 places ahead of Scott), so the decisive victory wasn't entirely unexpected.

Their wins bumped Alcoa and Elizabethton up to an identical 11-1. Elizabethton and Alcoa both have plenty of landslide victories under their belts (Elizabethton with ten and Alcoa with 11), but only one can come away triumphant this week. We'll find out who that is soon.
