Basketball Recap: LKY Victorious

LKY saw some tournament action on Thursday. They snuck past the Christ the King Jaguars with a 73-68 victory.

LKY found their leader in sophomore Maddox Benge, who went 6-for-9 from beyond the arc to rack up 24 points. Thanks to that strong game, Benge now owns an excellent 40.9% three-point shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Ezekiel Taylor, who went 6-for-10 on his way to 12 points and six boards.

LKY smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in seven consecutive matches.

LKY is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-19 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.0 points over those games. Christ the King is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.

LKY has already played their next contest, a 74-39 win against Illinois C on the 20th. Christ the King does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
