Volleyball Recap: Nickerson Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Nickerson took on Hoisington on Tuesday. The Panthers took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cardinals. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Cardinals recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-10.

Delaney Childs paced Nickerson's offense, picking up five kills. Childs got some help from Montana Peterson and her five assists.

Hoisington was led to victory by Reese Vaughn and Miya Nachtigal. Vaughn had six digs and three aces, while Nachtigal had six digs and two aces. That's the most aces Nachtigal has posted over her last seven matches.

Nickerson's defeat dropped their record down to 9-20. As for Hoisington, their victory was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 26-4.

Coming up, Nickerson will welcome McPherson on Saturday. As for Hoisington, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Hesston on the 7th.
