Basketball Game Preview: Raymore-Peculiar Panthers vs. Lee's Summit Tigers

Raymore-Peculiar and Lee's Summit are an even 4-4 against one another since December of 2014, but not for long. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Raymore-Peculiar Panthers duke it out with the Lee's Summit Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Raymore-Peculiar is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Staley just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 58-38 to the Falcons. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while the Falcons are ranked third).

Meanwhile, Lee's Summit didn't have too much trouble with Raytown South on Monday as they won 39-23. The 39-point effort marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Lee's Summit has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Raymore-Peculiar, their loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-5.

Raymore-Peculiar came up short against Lee's Summit in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 52-44. Can Raymore-Peculiar avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
