Baseball Game Preview: Cissna Park Timberwolves vs. Armstrong Trojans

The Cissna Park Timberwolves will head out on the road to challenge the Armstrong Trojans at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Cissna Park has struggled recently with five defeats in a row, while Armstrong will arrive with three straight wins.

Cissna Park lost 21-1 to Grant Park on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Armstrong hadn't done well against Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Trojans were the clear victors by an 11-5 margin over the Blue Devils. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Armstrong got a massive performance out of Ryan Edwards, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave Edwards a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Carter Freeman, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Cissna Park's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Armstrong, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.

Cissna Park might still be hurting after the 13-1 defeat they got from Armstrong in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Timberwolves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
