Basketball Recap: Glynn Academy Takes a Loss

Glynn Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They were outmatched by the Bradwell Institute Tigers and fell 78-36. The Terrors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-9.

Despite the defeat, Glynn Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ahmad Mcintosh went 7 of 9 en route to 16 points.

Bradwell Institute was led to victory by Jaylin Sweat and Christopher Perry. Sweat almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine boards, while Perry went 5 for 9 on his way to 15 points along with seven assists and five steals. Those five steals gave Perry a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Zi`On Thomas, who posted eight points and four steals.

Glynn Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-21. As for Bradwell Institute, their victory was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Glynn Academy will welcome Brunswick at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Brunswick is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 68.1 points per game this season. As for Bradwell Institute, they will be playing in front of their home fans against South Effingham at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Bradwell Institute knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine matchups -- so hopefully South Effingham likes a good challenge.
