Elmore County made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Marbury, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Panthers put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 9-3 victory on Friday. The win was familiar territory for the Panthers, who have now won three games in a row.

Elmore County pushed their record up to 18-9 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Marbury, they moved to 23-4 with that defeat, which also ended their 15-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Elmore County will venture away from home to square off against Reeltown at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Marbury, they will head out on the road to take on Stanhope Elmore at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Mustangs will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight.
