Basketball Game Preview: Cypress Ridge Rams vs. Stratford Spartans

The Cypress Ridge Rams will challenge the Stratford Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Cypress Ridge is headed into the matchup having just suffered their closest loss since November 22, 2024 on Saturday. They fell just short of Jersey Village by a score of 46-44. The Rams haven't had much luck with the Falcons recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Meanwhile, Stratford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 53-44 to Cypress Falls. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 392nd, while the Eagles are ranked 134th).

Stratford's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Cypress Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-13.

Cypress Ridge and Stratford were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, but Cypress Ridge came up empty-handed after a 41-40 loss. Can Cypress Ridge avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
