Football Recap: Desert Mirage Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Desert Mirage was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 35-20 to the Desert Hot Springs Golden Eagles. The RAMS were not able to make up for their defeat to the Golden Eagles from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Despite the loss, Desert Mirage still got an impressive performance from Omar Martinez, who rushed for 160 yards and one touchdown, and also picked up 39 receiving yards.

Jaylen Turner had a dynamite game For Desert Hot Springs., rushing for 66 yards and three scores on only six carries, while also throwing for 157 yards on only 12 passes. Those 66 rushing yards gave Turner a new career-high. Desert Hot Springs also got help from Tyron Grays, who showed off his sure hands for 89 receiving yards.

Desert Mirage's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Desert Hot Springs, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.

Looking ahead, Desert Mirage will look to defend their home field on Friday against Banning at 7:00 p.m. The Broncos will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the RAMS surely won't give up without a fight. As for Desert Hot Springs, they will venture away from home to square off against Cathedral City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Golden Eagles will be up against the Lions' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29.44 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
