Baseball Recap: Cypress Creek Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Cypress Creek won against Nature Coast Tech last Thursday with five runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Cypress Creek Coyotes walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Pasco Pirates. The win was nothing new for the Coyotes as they're now sitting on three straight.

Colin McGee tossed a big game, striking out ten batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Cypress Creek is 2-1 when McGee posts eight or more strikeouts, but 1-2 otherwise.

At the plate, Cypress Creek saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was David Macca, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. That run marked the first that Macca scored this season. Another was Deacon Turpin, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

The victory got Cypress Creek back to even at 3-3. As for Pasco, their defeat ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-2.

Coming up, Cypress Creek will venture away from home to take on Lecanto at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cypress Creek is facing Lecanto at the right time seeing as Lecanto is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Pasco, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Gulf at 7:00 p.m. Gulf is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
