Basketball Recap: Ethan Foster's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Hilton Head Christian Academy over Savannah Country Day

Hilton Head Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a hard 64-50 fall against the Savannah Country Day Hornets. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 75-45 back in December of 2024.

Hilton Head Christian Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ethan Foster, who posted 13 points in addition to five assists and three steals. Those three steals gave Foster a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Finn Ussery, who scored 12 points.

Foster wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Hilton Head Christian Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matchups.

Hilton Head Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Savannah Country Day, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2.

Hilton Head Christian Academy will host Trinity Collegiate at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Savannah Country Day, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 69-62 victory against Hilton Head Island on the 4th.
