San Clemente is 8-2 against Capistrano Valley since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The San Clemente Tritons will look to defend their home pitch against the Capistrano Valley Cougars at 5:15 p.m. Capistrano Valley took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on San Clemente, who comes in off a win.

On Monday, San Clemente made easy work of Mission Viejo and carried off a 5-1 victory. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 4-1.

San Clemente hit Mission Viejo with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Griffin Blair (2), Jonah Levandofsky, Chris Benitez, and Jack Blaney.

Meanwhile, Capistrano Valley has been on a difficult stretch since their win on December 26. They fell just short of Mission Viejo by a score of 2-1 on Wednesday.

San Clemente is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 17 goals over those five contests. As for Capistrano Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5-3.

San Clemente was able to grind out a solid win over Capistrano Valley in their previous matchup two weeks ago, winning 4-2. Will San Clemente repeat their success, or does Capistrano Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
