Softball Game Preview: Aragon Dons vs. Gilroy Mustangs

The Aragon Dons will challenge the Gilroy Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Thursday, Aragon came up short against Branham and fell 7-4. The loss continues a trend for the Dons in their matchups with the Bruins: they've now lost four in a row.

Brigette Brodsky was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Gilroy took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They never let Milpitas get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory.

Dani Wilson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was Andrea Alvarez, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Gilroy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Milpitas only posted an OBP of .167.

Aragon suffered a grim 8-2 defeat to Gilroy in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can Aragon avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
