Basketball Game Preview: Surry HomeSchool Runnin' Patriots vs. Dayspring Christian Academy Lions

Surry HomeSchool is 3-0 against Dayspring Christian Academy since November of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 2:30 p.m.

Surry HomeSchool's tournament run continued when they took on South Guilford HomeSchool last Saturday. Surry HomeSchool fell just short of South Guilford HomeSchool by a score of 56-54. The Runnin' Patriots haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.

Surry HomeSchool's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Dylan Butcher, who posted 19 points, and Heath Clark, who had 18 points. The matchup was Butcher's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ian Schuyler, who earned six points.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Dayspring Christian Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road back in December of 2024. They blew past Christian Heritage Academy 62-30 two weeks ago. The game marked the Lions' most dominant victory of the season.

The win got Dayspring Christian Academy back to even at 4-4. As for Surry HomeSchool, their loss dropped their record down to 6-12.
