Basketball Recap: Highland Trojans vs. Morgan Township Cherokees
Highland proved they can win big last Saturday (they won by 29) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 56-53 win over the Morgan Township Cherokees. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Trojans have posted since January 6th.

Highland got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Justin Pack out in front who went 7 of 16 on his way to 23 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Pack's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Walter Glover Jr, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Morgan Township lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Aidan Johnson, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 13 points and five steals. Those five steals gave Johnson a new career-high. Cal Lemmons was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.
The victory (which was Highland's third in a row) raised their record to 5-1. As for Morgan Township, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-5.
Highland will square off against Whiting at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Highland is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.8 points per game this season. As for Morgan Township, they will take on Christian Academy at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
