Basketball Recap: Oakwood Christian vs. Temple Christian Academy Warriors
Oakwood Christian kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They lost 50-25 to the Temple Christian Academy Warriors. Oakwood Christian just can't catch a break and has now endured nine losses in a row dating back to last season.
Temple Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Casey Merritt led the charge by as he made all 7 shots he took racking up 15 points plus eight rebounds and four steals. The dominant performance also gave Merritt a new career-high in assists (three). Another player making a difference was Luke Passetti, who had nine points along with six steals.
Oakwood Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Barnes Academy at 6:30 p.m. on December 3rd. As for Temple Christian Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 68-49 win against Milledgeville Prep on the 9th.
