Basketball Recap: Travelers Rest Takes a Loss

Travelers Rest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 70-66 heartbreaker at the hands of the Blue Ridge Fighting Tigers. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (58), the Devildogs still had to take the loss.

Paul Bishop continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Blue Ridge, dropping a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. Bishop is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 12 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ty'Korian Campbell, who went 6 for 7 on his way to 13 points and three steals.

Travelers Rest's defeat dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Blue Ridge, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 9-11 record this season.

Travelers Rest has already played their next contest (against Berea), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Blue Ridge and Greer will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Blue Ridge is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.8 points per game this season.
