Basketball Recap: Saint Andrew's Scots vs. NSU University Sharks
Saint Andrew gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They really took it to the NSU University Sharks for the full four quarters, racking up an 86-58 win. That's more bragging rights for the Scots, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Saint Andrew's to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zion Sampaio, who went 6 for 13 en route to 18 points plus five rebounds and two steals. The dominant performance also gave Sampaio a new career-high in assists (four). Brendan Gerard was another key player, posting 13 points in addition to eight assists and three steals.
Saint Andrew's has already played their next game, an 85-48 victory against Somerset Academy Key on the 21st. As for NSU University, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Chaminade-Madonna at 7:30 p.m. on December 3rd.
