Recap: Galena Pirates vs. Warren Warriors
The Galena Pirates posted their biggest win since December 18, 2023 on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Warren as Galena made off with a 56-36 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Galena has posted against Warren since February 24, 2021.
It was another big night for Connor Glasgow, who scored 25 points along with two steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Galena's points. Josh Mcnett was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds.
Despite the defeat, Warren saw an underclassman step up: Bryce VanRaalte scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Treyton Pafford, who scored 12 points.
Galena is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for Warren, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Galena will take on West Carroll at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. West Carroll is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses. As for Warren, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against East Dubuque at 6:00 p.m.
