Volleyball Recap: Mater Dei Catholic Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Mater Dei Catholic extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 21-12. They lost 3-0 to the Otay Ranch Mustangs. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Crusaders have suffered against the Mustangs since October 13, 2023.

As for Otay Ranch, their win bumped their record up to 21-14. They not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since September 29th (when they won 3-0).

Otay Ranch can attribute much of their success to Allyson Austria, who had five aces and four digs. Those four digs gave Austria a new career-high.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Mater Dei Catholic will square off against rival Eastlake at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Otay Ranch is set to face off against their familiar foe Bonita Vista at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
