Basketball Recap: Gamble Montessori Takes a Loss

Gamble Montessori played a tough match on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Mercy McAuley Wolves 62-17. The Gators were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-10.

Mercy McAuley was led to victory by Ady Kreimer and Aubree Bernecker. Kreimer went 6-for-15 to rack up 15 points in addition to six boards and five steals, while Bernecker went 5-for-7 on her way to 12 points and seven steals. With that strong performance, Kreimer is now averaging an impressive 2 steals per game. Haley Murphy was another key player, putting up nine points and four steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Gamble Montessori and nudges their season record down to 5-12. As for Mercy McAuley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-14.

Gamble Montessori does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mercy McAuley, they will take on DePaul Cristo Rey in a tournament on February 18th.
