Softball Recap: Chippewa Valley Takes a Loss

Chippewa Valley lost against Romeo back in May of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Big Reds lost 9-2 to the Bulldogs. The Big Reds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cameron Metcalfe made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Casey MetCalfe, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Chippewa Valley suffered their first road loss, dropping their record down to 2-4. As for Romeo, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chippewa Valley will challenge Utica Ford at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Romeo, they will square off against Lutheran North at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
