Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hammonton). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Buena Chiefs a 22-0 shutout on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Blue Devils sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Gracie Ravenkamp made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, Sophia Booker was incredible, going 1-for-3 with three runs and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Hannah Hines, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Hammonton hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in five consecutive contests.
