Preview: Concord Christian Academy Minutemen vs. Chestertown Christian Academy Patriots
The Concord Christian Academy Minutemen will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Chestertown Christian Academy Patriots at 6:15 p.m. on February 13th. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Concord Christian Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They skirted past Calvary Christian Academy 37-34. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Concord Christian Academy has scored all year.
Concord Christian Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Gabriel Franco out in front who scored 17 points along with two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Franco has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Keavon Bailey - Homeschool, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 15 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Chestertown Christian Academy waltzed into their match on Monday with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They were the clear victor by a 45-19 margin over Greenwood Mennonite. Chestertown Christian Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Concord Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Chestertown Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 9-2 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home.
Concord Christian Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Chestertown Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 38-34 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Chestertown Christian Academy's John Stoltzfus, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds.
