Basketball Recap: Heritage Christian Takes a Loss

Heritage Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. The game between them and the Martin Luther Spartans didn't end well, with the Heritage Christian Patriots falling 71-54. That's two games in a row now that the Patriots have lost by exactly 17 points.

Despite the defeat, Heritage Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Chase Porter went 7 for 16 en route to 20 points and six assists. Porter continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Draeger, who posted eight points along with eight assists and five boards.

Heritage Christian's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Martin Luther, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-5.

Heritage Christian has already played their next match, an 88-77 defeat against Meir on the 20th. As for Martin Luther, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 75-64 win against Shorewood on the 18th.
