Preview: Southern Rams vs. Allegany Campers
Southern is 8-2 against Allegany since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Southern Rams will head out on the road to challenge the Allegany Campers at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Southern scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They snuck past Parkside with a 69-63 victory. The win was all the more spectacular given Southern's disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 159th in Maryland, while Parkside is ranked 16th in District of Columbia).
Southern's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Noah Wilt, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wilt has scored all season. Jared Haskiell was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with six steals.
Meanwhile, Allegany didn't have too much trouble with Mountain Ridge at home on Wednesday as they won 62-43.
The win makes it two in a row for Southern and bumps their season record up to 6-4. As for Allegany, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1.
Southern was taken down by Allegany 75-46 in their previous meeting two weeks ago. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Southern was down 46-23.
