Softball Preview: West Lincoln Rebels vs. Bandys Trojans

The West Lincoln Rebels will head out on the road to face off against the Bandys Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. West Lincoln is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.

West Lincoln is hoping to deliver their fans another blowout on Monday, just like they did against Lincolnton (and have done all season long). West Lincoln blew past Lincolnton 12-1.

Jordann Huss made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Huss was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with a home run and four RBI.

In other batting news, Kaitlyn Carpenter was incredible, going 1-for-2 with a home run, three runs, and two RBI. Koragan Hullette was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing a base.

Meanwhile, Bandys fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Bunker Hill on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. Caroline Drum was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing four bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Paige Barrymore, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-4.

West Lincoln is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. As for Bandys, their loss dropped their record down to 13-7.
