Lafayette is 8-2 against Paul Laurence Dunbar since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Generals will look to defend their home field against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. The last three games Lafayette has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Lafayette's offense. They fell just short of Bryan Station by a score of 1-0 on Thursday. Generals fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Defenders since on Thursday.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Saturday as neither Paul Laurence Dunbar nor DeSales made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Bulldogs came up short against the Colts, falling 8-2. The Bulldogs' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Louie Desalvo was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 4.2 innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Paul Laurence Dunbar saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brooks White, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Steven Estepp also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Lafayette's defeat dropped their record down to 11-9-1. As for Paul Laurence Dunbar, their loss dropped their record down to 8-12.

Lafayette was able to grind out a solid win over Paul Laurence Dunbar in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 4-1. Do the Generals have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
