Baseball Recap: Lakeview Victorious

Lakeview posted their closest win since April 18, 2024 on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over the Kent City Eagles. This was a revenge game for the Wildcats: when they faced off against the Eagles on Monday, they had to take a 4-2 loss.

Boston Syrjala looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Lakeview is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 4-6 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Jack Peasley was excellent, going 1-for-3 with four stolen bases and one run. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ayden Bunker, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Lakeview's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Kent City, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.

Lakeview will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
