Softball Recap: Bucktail Beats Oswayo Valley for Their Third Straight Victory

Bucktail waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Oswayo Valley Green Wave as they made off with a 10-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bucks, who have now won six matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Carrie Ditty spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on one hit and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, Bucktail let Makenna Stone and Lola English run wild. Stone got on base in all four of her plate appearances with seven stolen bases and four runs, while English got on base in all four of her plate appearances with five stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Stone has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last 11 times she's played. Kendall Wagner was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.

Bucktail now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Oswayo Valley, they dropped their record down to 1-5 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Bucktail will face off against East Juniata at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Oswayo Valley, they will square off against Northern Potter at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
