League recap: A.C. Reynolds climbs in state rankings

A.C. Reynolds moved up to 51 from 79 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 4A/3A Conference 1. The Rockets were able to move up by besting Sun Valley 65-14.

Asheville extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Cuthbertson, 33-7. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Cougars.

Roberson's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Reggie Pinner threw for 317 and 6 touchdowns and Alex Talley had 170 yards receiving. On the ground Desmond Moorman chipped in 41 yards. Ben Warren helped Roberson's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 60 yards.

He went 21-42 with 1 interception.

Moorman was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 41 yards on 15 carries as the Rams lost to North Davidson. Teammate Pinner added to the ground attack by rushing for 21 yards.

Leading 4A/3A Conference 1 in both passing and receiving yards, Roberson's Pinner and Marcus Jenkins have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-4 quarterback Pinner has thrown for 2,946 yards this season, while Jenkins has 62 catches for 879 yards. Cameron Ray from Asheville leads the league in rushing with 808 yards.

A.C. Reynolds took down the Spartans 65-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.
