Recap: Paradise Valley Christian Prep Panthers vs. Thunderbird Adventist Academy
The Paradise Valley Christian Prep Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They were beaten by Thunderbird Adventist Academy 59-26. While losing is never fun, Paradise Valley Christian Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 257th, while Thunderbird Adventist Academy is ranked 97th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Thunderbird Adventist Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gideon Orellana, who scored 20 points along with eight steals. Orellana is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Malcolm Tucker was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Paradise Valley Christian Prep has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season. As for Thunderbird Adventist Academy, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Paradise Valley Christian Prep will take on Tri City Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Thunderbird Adventist Academy, they will be playing at home against Ville de Marie Academy at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Ville de Marie Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
