It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Dillon Christian ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Williamsburg Academy Stallions 4-3. The win was familiar territory for the Warriors, who have now won five contests in a row.

Lilli Shooter spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on seven hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Molly Andrews, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Dillon Christian's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.1 runs over those games. As for Williamsburg Academy, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-3.

Dillon Christian will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Stallions: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
